Submersible

Sivu’s song Submersible reminds of Space Oddity. It is full of doubt, seeking, determination and an odd, dim sense of hope.

Sometime it feels like I have been swimming long enough and want to get back to shore.

The first time I heard this song I was in as very emotionally place. The song hit me all the way to the core.

I'm a lifelong music lover living in Boston with my husband, son and mother in law. Music has always played a big part in my life and I would like to share some stories and thoughts about songs that I love.

  1. There must be something more
    That I have not seen
So I’m going deep deep deep deep
    Down in my submarine
    Gotta get real high
So we can get real low
You have to break your body first
    Before you lose your soul

    So I quench my thirst
    And I rid myself clean
    You don’t fear the future
    When you have no dreams
    So I travelled North
    And I’ve seen the South
    I’ve been all over now
    And I still have doubts

So I’m going deep deep deep deep
    Down in my submarine

If only I could slow it down
    To take it all in
    You’re a soul survivor
As you float in your tin
As you float in your tin

    Lights are surging above me
    But I dare not change
    High up above
The sun still looks the same
Curtains drawn it’s time to take the stage
But I just can’t look, so I turn away

So I’m going deep deep deep deep
    Down in my submarine

If only I could slow it down
    To take it all in

Now there’s nothing more out there
    That I have not seen
I’m never going back inside that old submarine
    Cause I’ve been real high
and now I’m left so low
You have to break your body first
    Before you lose your soul
